We work with a strong and diverse set of multi-talented individuals in Hawaii, California, New York, and the Midwestern US to deliver a project on-time and on-budget.

Though Easter Island does not have anything close to a thriving production industry, it does have 5,000 inhabitants that are used to wearing many hats. The majority of the people on the island work several jobs throughout the year to offset the high and low tourist seasons. For Ancient Life : Easter Island, Mara Films brought together several experts and actors to represent the island’s culture on camera. Contact us to learn more about the possibilities of local talent from tatoo artists, carvers, to archeologist and historians.

State side, we work with a variety of skilled crew and talent throughout the Midwest and in Hawaii. From editors and underwater cinematographers in California, to cultural specialists and hula girls in Hawaii, we have the connections to put together the team your project needs.

A mentor and great friend of mine, Judith Vecchione (Independent Lens, Frontline, American Experience), is Executive Producing this all digital series of videos, blogs, and social media about the Paralympic games. Every week new blogs and videos are added to their website pbs.org/medalquest, social media content on their facebook.com/medalquest and twitter.com/medalquest sites.

This is PBS’s first all digitial project for general audiences, which is exciting news for producers like us who develop for web, mobile, and interactive platforms.

Public media should always be delivered and produced for the public space. Though almost every American house hold has a television in it, the broadcast programming model does not support the endless content possibilities and diverse voices that the web and 2.0 mediums allow. I applaud PBS for their move into the digital space, and look forward to more series of this kind.

JWM Productions from Washington DC hired us to provide production services for their shoot of “Ancient Life : Easter Island” one episode of a 3D series that was broadcasted in December 2012 over Discovery’s 3Net Channel. The production was the first to shoot in 3D on the island. We provided Fixer support, on camera talent, props, transportation, grips / PA’s, and logistics support for their 9 person, 2 camera crew.

A beautiful spring day shooting a team of University of Minnesota rowers with 2 Red Scarlets. Sergio acted as an associate producer for a spot by Three Volts. A long week of pre-production entailed finding a pontoon boat that could support a 30 foot jib from Picture Factory, while keeping speed with some lean mean rowing teams. We assembled a crew of 11 talented Minnesotans and spent one full day shooting under beautiful (yet windy) conditions.
